SURFACE PROTECTIONAll bars are protected with plastic or with other highly protective packaging.
TESTS:After chromium plating, each bar is tested fo:
- chromium deposit concentricity
- surface characteristics
- dimensional tolerances
- chromium layer thickness
LENGTHS:
RANDOM LENGTHS:
- up to O. D. 19 mm L = 4/5 m .
- over O. D. 20 mm L = 5.8 /7 m = 5,8/7 m
FIXED LENGTHS: standard fixed length tolerance is -0 +5 mm. Tighter tolerances can be agreed on request.
CERTIFICATES:
All bars have certificates showing chemical analysis and mechanical properties
according to DIN and certificates of corrosion resistance in a salt spray according to ASTM B 117. CHROMIUM LAYER CHARACTERISTICS
WALL THICKNESS:
- from O. D. 8 to O. D. 19 mm ≥ 15 µm
- from O. D. 20 to O. D. 125 mm ≥ 20 µm
- from O. D. 127 to O. D. 500 mm ≥ 40 µm
- HARDNESS: 850 - 1150 HV
- TOLERANCES: according to ISO f7
- STRAIGHTNESS: 0,3 mm/1000 mm.
- OVALITY: 1/2 of the O. D. tolerance
- SURFACE ROUGHNESS: Ra max 0,2 µm.
Chromed bars with double chromium plating are available on request. |
